“Crown Circle” reimagines the African beauty salon as more than just a place to get your hair done, it becomes a sanctuary where women come together not only to transform their looks but to recharge, release, and reconnect. Set in a simple neighborhood salon, the work shows that beauty doesn’t need luxury to shine instead it flows from within and grows stronger in community.
The salon turns into therapy without walls. Here, everyday conversations take shape like gossip, laughter, secrets, and advice blending into a shared rhythm. The space buzzes with energy giving women a break from life’s pressures and the freedom to just be. They walk out not only with their crowns styled, but with their spirits lighter and their hearts fuller.
By spotlighting an Afrocentric space that’s often overlooked, Crown Circle celebrates hair as heritage, as ritual, and as power. It highlights the bond of sisterhood, the intimacy of storytelling, and the quiet strength found in community, a circle where women affirm, heal, and crown one another.
